It all started with a simple question, "What is your favourite animal?" Each student wrote their answer on a recipe card and we created a graph to see what was the most popular animal.
We decided that dogs were the animal we were most interested in. While Mrs. Lowe was away at professional development, the students did a lot of research about dogs. They read books, and watched videos from Discovery Education.
Next we did a Skype call with another class. We played "Mystery Animal." Each class asks yes or no questions to figure out what the other classes mystery animal is. The students had so much fun and they asked really great questions including:
- Does your animal have fur?
- Does your animal have 4 legs?
- Can your animal fly?
- Can your animal slither?
This student got to see some friends from another class! |
So excited to ask questions and make smart guesses. |
We used our iPad because we couldn't get sound through the Smartboard. Sometimes technology is tricky and we're learning to be patient. |
Eventually we figured out that their animal was a squid! That was challenging!
We are excited to play again with more people. Anyone have a Skype account and want to play?
