Polar Express Pyjama Party

Today we wore our pyjamas to school! We were very cozy!

In the morning Mrs. Lowe started reading the book, The Polar Express.  We decided it would be fun to ready the book inside a train. We brainstormed a list of things we would need and Mrs. Lowe and Ms. Janz helped us to make our very own train.

In the afternoon we read the story in the train and then we made our very own train snacks out of marshmallows, Fruit Loops, and a Smartie for a light.  Then we got to eat them with hot chocolate.

When we were finished our snack, we watched The Polar Express movie in a special movie theatre with couches and pillows. It was really comfy!

Hi Connie,
I'm a JK/SK teacher over in Ontario who happened to come across your blog one day while browsing for ideas. I loved your post on Discovery Time and would love to know a little more about how your day is broken down (your "flow of the day" if you will). We are in the midst of going through a full board transition to full day as well as an inquiry/play based model of learning. Any information about your journey that you would be willing to share would most definitely be appreciated!

Sincerely,
Nicole (nicole.hodgson@ocdsb.ca)
