After a wonderful summer break, I have spent the last week getting the classroom ready for the new school year.
The lockers are labeled, the pencils are sharpened, and the new carpet is out. Now all I need are some shiny new students!
In June last year I asked the students from Room 8 if they had any advice or information to share with the new kindergarteners. Here's what they had to say:
We have a Smart Board and it teaches you.
Clean up and be peaceful and play calm. You will learn a lot.
You will have fun. There is fun stuff to share with you.
You can ask Mrs. Lowe stuff and she is really nice and beautiful.
You should clean up when you are done playing.
Mrs. Lowe will be the best teacher.
I will be nice to you. You can play in the house.
You should be nice to the teachers.
The best thing about kindergarten is you learn and listen and play. You should be quiet and I hope you like our teacher.
They should know how to be kind at recess. Always try your best!
Be nice to friends. Stretch out words. Mrs. Lowe will teach you ABC's.
Welcome to kindergarten. I hope you will have fun!
If you haven't already done so, please call the school to make your appointment for Meet the Teacher on September 9th or 10th.
