Kindergarten Around the World

Over the past few months our class has participating in a program called Kindergarten Around the World.

Teachers are able to sign up their kindergarten classes to be matched with another class, somewhere else in the world.

The goals are to:

  • Compare and contrast their own daily lives with those of other students around the world.
  • See themselves as a part of a larger, international community of Kindergarten-aged children.
  • Develop an awareness of and appreciation for other cultures.
  • Reflect of their own school lives and daily experiences.
  • Explore the use of technology as a tool to communicate and build relationships.

We were matched with Mrs. Mac's class in North Carolina!

At the beginning of the year, we exchanged books about all of the things that we can see around our schools.  Students from both classes had a lot of questions so we each sent videos with 3 questions for the other class.  Then we sent our video answers back.

The students had a lot of questions about what each others classrooms looked like, so we decided to create videos to exchange.

We can't wait to see where this connection will lead us next!
