This week we celebrated our 100th day of school.
We all felt very proud of how much we have learned in 100 days of Kindergarten!
To celebrate, we attempted to build a tower with 100 cups. It was awesome to see the teamwork and determination that the students demonstrated. When their tower crashed the just laughed and started building again.
We also timed how long it would take us to count to 100 by ones. It took 1:42. When we counted by 10's it only took 12 seconds! We practiced counting by 10's when we made a special snack with 100 items. Students were very focused moving or touching each item as they counted it. This helps the to keep track and not lose the count.
We had fun using the "Olderster" app to see what we might look like when we are 100 years old. The students did some amazing writing about what they might be like.
Here's what some of the students wrote about:
"I will use a walking stick" - Dante
"I will have lines on my face" - Gabriel
"I will knit" - Leah
"I will eat slow" - Chase
"I will not run and play" - Elryck
"I will be mad" - Mia
"I will have no good looks" - Tayna
"I will wear hats a lot" - Cassie
