Wacky Science Show and a Special Gift

This morning we went to a special assembly in the gym. The presentation was called the "Wacky Science Show." Ryan Price showed us a whole bunch of cool experiments.

One of the students in our class even got to be part of one of the tricks. By using a special lever, the Kindergarten boy was able to lift two big kids!!

In the afternoon, Mrs. Hamm came to our class with a very special gift! The students got to help her unwrap each of the many layers of wrapping paper. Inside was a very special poster about how to do "Read to Self."

Mrs. Hamm told us that we can read by looking at the words but also by looking at the pictures.

We are going to practice a lot so that we can become better readers, more independent, and have fun!

Before we went to try "Read to Self" Mrs. Hamm reminded us of the rules:

1. Shhh, we have to be very quiet.

2. Get started right away (there's even a special song to remember this one).

3. Read the whole time!

4. Pick one spot and stay there.
