We have learned so much in Kindergarten this year. It's hard to believe the year is over.
This week the students did some reflecting on the things they learned throughout the year. Here are the things they thought were the most important.
The great news is that this blog will remain active over the summer and throughout the next year. The students' Kidblogs will also remain active. They are welcome and encouraged to continue writing there over the summer. I would love to hear about all of their adventures!
Have a great summer!

Cutting Room Floor
Hi there, it's Mrs. Lowe today. Throughout the year I have had so much fun learning with the students in room 8. I think I have learned as much as they have.
This year we were so fortunate to be given some great new technology equipment which lead to many firsts;
Most of what we have done has been shared with our readers through our class blog, but every now and then a project does not make it.
These two projects were not published but I feel they are too great/funny/awesome not to share!
#1 This video was made as a submission for a grant. Even though we did not get the grant, the students learned many valuable lessons about how to ask for things.
#2 This was my first attempt at "Green Screening." Unfortunately at this busy time of the year it just did not get finished in time for Father's Day, and not all students work was included.
I really hope you have enjoyed our class blog this year!

End of the Year Celebrations
The school year is coming to a close and the next two weeks will be very busy in our room. Please make sure to check the Calendar and Reminders pages for important dates.
We will be celebrating our awesome year together on June 27th. Please check the Calendar page to see who will be bringing snacks.
June 27th there will be an award ceremony in the gym at 10:00 am. All families are invited to attend. The students will be singing a farewell song. They are encouraged to practice the song by watching the video here, or on Ms. Remple's music blog.

Still Life Paintings
Last week Mrs. Lowe brought some flowers to our classroom. We did some research on Instagram to find out what they were. We found out that the brown one is called a Shampoo Ginger.
Mrs. Lowe set up a painting station with permanent markers and water-colour paints. First we had to look really closely at the flowers and draw exactly what we saw. Then we used the water-colour paints to colour them in and add backgrounds.
We think they turned out pretty great. What do you think?

My favourite part was the lasagna. It was kind of hard for me - Piper
Going in the water table was my favourite because there was a tornado thing that you could put these tiny balls in and it would spin around and if you put your hand in the hole in the bottom the ball will come to your hand and it will stay there and then a tornado would come up! - Logan
I liked riding in the train - Jaylan
My favourite part was the slide and looking through that glass thing. You get to see people go down the slide. I looked down when Kiera and Aaliyah were going - Kiara
My favourite part was the choo-choo train because I got to go right to the front - Ashton
I loved playing with the balls in the whirlpool - Oliver
My favourite part was in the train, we kept saying that the engine was getting lower. - Annabelle
