Attention All Parents: We Love Baking!

Today we baked cookies.

The kids got the ingredients from a little table brought it to our work stations.

Then we measured the ingredients and put them in the bowl.

Next, we stirred the ingredients together. Then we put the bowl in the microwave to melt the butter.

When it was ready we added vanilla, oats, and coconut. Next we used two spoons to drop the batter onto the pans.

Finally, we put the cookies in the fridge to set.

We enjoyed baking!

He Came!

Today Jon Klassen came to visit. We were very relieved that his flight

He showed us how to draw a turtle like the ones in his books!

Jon Klassen Visit

We have exciting news!

This Wednesday Jon Klassen is coming to visit Stevenson School.  If you haven't heard of him, he wrote and illustrated a series of three books including I Want My Hat Back, This Is Not My Hat, and We Found a Hat. These are some of our favourite books!

Today we spent some time preparing for his visit and brainstorming ways to make him feel welcome.

We explored using the overhead projector to make our writing big for posters.

Can you guess which character is developing here?
If your child has any Jon Klassen books at home and you would like to have them autographed, please send them to school on Wednesday.
